Background Story: The mystic druids of Avalon have decided to withdraw from the world of mortals, leaving behind their centers of power - the powerful Summoning Stones. Without their guardianship, the stones and their power are available to whoever can control them. The druid's retreat has once again plunged the High Kingdom into civil war, as the armies of the world seek to take the throne from (the winner of The Wizzard's Keep War).
This is the official web site for the Southern Front 2001 FR! tournament (see below for more info on FR! or Southern Front). The tourney will be held Saturday afternoon (Sept 8th), and pictures of the event, tournament results and battle reports will appear here after the convention. Standard 1000 pts, 250 pts sideboard, 15mm 2nd edition FR! armies are allowed - though we are flexible and can create army list for just about any 15mm army you might wish to play. The Battle for the High Throne will be a round-robin tournament pitting your army against those of your rival claimants to the throne - fighting each battle in a different terrain of the land you are trying to rule. Winning a major victory was worth 4 tournament points, a minor victory 3, a tie battle 2, a minor defeat 1, and a major defeat was worth none. Additionally this year tournament points will be awarded for controling Summoning Stones at the end of a battle. The player with the most tournament points after three rounds was declared the winner and the new High King. We are also using our tournament rule from last year - the reduction of both armies moral clock at the end of each turn (in addition to standard morale clock reductions).
Fantasy Rules! (FR!) is a game of epic battles fought between fantasy armies. Just about any fantasy army can be used with this game, as well as different scales of miniatures (I can field both 15mm and 25mm armies). FR! is produced by Chipco (see below for link), and they are supplying prizes for the tournament.
