Experience'n life on a dairy farm,
Learn'n new... all kinds of things,
But most my learn'n came from cows!
Ol' Bossy taught me a lot 'bout space,
I can remember when sit'n low,
But I think the main thing learn'd from cows,

WHAT I LEARNED FROM COWS
(118KB)
As a grow'n boy of ten;
Work'n with cows, slop'n hogs,
Rob'n eggs from 'neath a hen.
Do'n it right... the "country" way;
Like use'n straw to "bed-down" cows,
And save'n the string when feed'n hay.
Yes to them the credit's due;
I'm thankful for their bovine knowledge,
See'n things from a cows "point-of-view".
When arrive'n in the milk'n parlor;
She'd often stomp right on my foot,
I guess... just to hear me holler!
Hand-milk'n as in a race;
When all at once without a cause,
Being "tail-whip'd" in the face!
And this is the fact of the matter;
Is how and when to jump and dodge,
To avoid unwant'd splatter!
