LITTLE THINGS

I enjoy look'n at little things,
While walk'n thru the woods;
It's like an entirely different world,
That's truly mis-understood.

Have ya ever spent an hour watch'n,
As a butterfly escapes cocoon;
Or study crickets make'n music,
In the light of a quarter-moon?

Go out some night and take a seat,
On a stump along the way;
Then listen for owls to communicate,
Only guess'n at what they say.

It's fun to watch a spider work'n,
As if follow'n some mighty plan;
Then after hours of steady labor,
Have'n it torn down by careless man.

Compare the veins of different leaves,
Or how flowers' petals grow;
Watch as red ants march single-file,
See how bees make honey flow.

It's all a part of what life's about,
So... don't miss it while you're here;
Not take'n advantage of opportunities,
Has caused many to shed a tear.
